Kirkwood, MO – The Friends of the Kirkwood Public Library will sponsor Jim Gill’s “Family Room Tour” at Station Plaza in downtown Kirkwood on Saturday, October 3, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.
At 10:00 a.m. Sparky the Fire Dog will appear to entertain children and parents alike. Then at 11:00 a.m., Jim Gill’s free concert will include songs from his award-winning recordings and will feature a read-along and sing-along from his musical books for young children.
Besides being a musician and author, Gill is a child development specialist with a graduate degree from the Erikson Institute of Chicago. The family concerts are known for his leading children and adults in singing and playing together.
His CD, “Jim Gill Sings Moving Rhymes for Moving Times,” was one of only two music recordings to receive a 2007 Notable Children’s Recording Award from the American Library Association. More information on Gill is available at www.jimgill.com.
At noon additional entertainment such as a balloon maker, face painting, and more will continue to entertain families.
In case of rain, the concert will be held in the gym at Nipher Middle School, 700 South Kirkwood Road.
